Once these lands were changed to be the mercantile center of Sailan trade with the east. During the last parts of the Third Age, Kingdoms, a group of Oni infiltrated the local populace. Their chance for coup came when the Heavenly Emperor was slain, Icons brought destruction and the country of Shidarezakura closed its borders. The Oni sold the populace to the Iconian Empire and worked for them, until their defeat at the end of Fourth Age, The Calamity. When the dust settled, the Oni returned and took control. The Jadeite Empire wants its lands back but it will take them one bloody war to do so as the masters found their sweet spot as great merchants, be it slaves or other wares, even bringing weapons from the east.
