Werecreature

Werecreatures are shapechangers with at least two forms, that of a humanoid and that of a particular kind of animal. In humanoid form, they appear no different than a typical specimen of that type and their natural life expectancy was the same. Werecreatures can disguise themselves somewhat through their shape-shifting abilities, either taking on a form almost identical to a humanoid but with subtle details revealing their true nature such as pointed teeth or long fingernails. Similarly, werecreatures can assume an animal form, which would be a perfect disguise except for the unusual spark of intelligence in their eyes that sometimes gives them away. Some werecreatures can also take on an intermediate "hybrid form", superficially resembling their humanoid form but with the head of the specific animal whose shape they could also take.   The legends have it that their story begins in the First Age, The Titan War as many mortal beings were interconnected with nature itself. The Titan Caretaker loved all living things and allowed them to mix in his Garden. This was twisted by the war and in the Second Age, Godswar, the Garden is supposed to be no more, while the creatures changed into what now is called the proto-werecreatures. These beings were capable of changing their form into whatever creature they liked but they were few in numbers. Their hatred towards the Gods grew exceptionally because without the Garden, they were mortal and their constant changes were becoming harder to maintain. They were unable to stop the madness overtaking them and proceeded to feast on the flesh on other mortals. Those that survived, scratched or bloodied by them changed into the first Werecreatures, they would find themselves to be the carriers of a disease that would never leave the world of Tethys. The moon, Asta, became significant for their nature as in the shadows of the night, they could let loose and hunt other mortals, like their ancestors. Over time, those that fully accepted their place as werecreatures would build tribes and clans, spreading all around the world. In those moments, a new race would be born - the Shifters, also called the Werekin, that would only exist thanks to human adaptation. Children of elven or dwarven werecreatures, for example, would die at birth. Many of the werecreatures are evil aligned and follow the goddess of the red moon, Astrea.
