Hailing from an orc tribe on the edges of the Material Plane where the Feywild's influence often seeps through the planar borders, Munda always had a thing for the beauty of the natural and magical world. At a young age, while wandering the forest, she happened upon a sylvan shrine to Arscita, the Artful One, and unknowingly received her blessing--an untapped wellspring of magic sleeping just beneath the surface for much of her early life. She is well-trained in martial arts, as is customary in her tribe, but she refuses to use her power to cause harm, and acts only to defend others. Despite her immense strength and martial prowess, Munda's true passions lie elsewhere, and she'd much rather spend her time baking or painting than fighting.

When an orc from Munda's tribe comes of age, they are tattooed with a special ink that heightens their latent abilities, usually granting them great strength or courage. The design of the tattoo is one that has been passed down through generations of orcs, but Munda insisted on designing her tattoo herself. Her father, the chieftain of their tribe, did not approve of Munda shirking tradition, and forbade her from using her own design, so she snuck away into the forest at night, accompanied by an elder orc who had always supported Munda's creativity. The elder, who was also blessed by Arscita, gave Munda her tattoo under the cover of night, which began to glow a vivid amber upon its completion, just like her own. As Munda's body suddenly overflowed with magic, a series of cakes and pastries popped into existence, filling the crisp night air with the smell of warm fruit and sweet spices.

The next day, the chieftain found out about Munda's disobedience and was furious, casting her out from the tribe. After a tearful goodbye, she spent the next few years wandering the Feywilds and the magical forests of the Material Plane, learning to conjure more and more flavorful dishes, as well as adding her own touches with herbs she collected. She would often stay in the same place for several days, taking the time to reimagine the beautiful vistas and interesting creatures she saw on her travels as vivid paintings. One day, while passing through a small village, Munda heard about the ARA from a fellow traveler, and decided to join up, relishing the idea of a stable place to live where she could use her talents to inspire and nourish likeminded folks. She will still occasionally leave for days at a time, seeking new inspiration for her paintings.

Physical Description

Munda is slightly above average height for an orc, standing at about 5 1/2 feet tall, with biceps about the size of grapefruits. She has an intricate tattoo reminiscent of the Celestial Fox, Arscita, starting at the middle of her left forearm and stretching all the way over her shoulder to the middle of her back, giving off a faint amber glow. Munda tends to wear loose, casual clothing, with a preference for asymmetrical tops that show off her tattoo, since it's one she designed herself and is very proud of. She has several different aprons that all have punny motivational phrases on them like "bake it 'til you make it", which she wears on a fairly regular rotation. Munda's disposition is usually very sunny, and she exudes a confidence that is infectious. Her voice is deep and smooth "like a good cup o' bean juice", as she'd tell you if you mention it to her directly.

Relationships

The Party

Munda respects the party and their strength, but often reminds anyone who sets foot into her café that a calm mind and a moment to relax is just as important as the work they do in the field. She's grateful to the party for indulging her request to check out some weird happenstances in the Feywilds that appeared to be related to her and her art.

Munda has a fondness for those who show appreciation for the arts, and has started teaching what she knows to Heliadora, who has since taken up sketching and painting. She also gave Umbra a tattoo of her own design using some special ink that Desmo developed, and is very pleased with the result.

Vena Colubra

Munda and Vena have been friends for a few years, and they hit it off almost immediately. Back when Munda joined the ARA, Vena was still a field agent, and Munda would often make her tasty snacks for the road. The two became inseparable once Vena became the head librarian and was around HQ more often, and since then Vena has spent much of her time off in Munda's café, talking about all the hottest gossip, or giving Desmo a space to talk about his hobbies.

Salmahn Aendr

Munda doesn't know much about Salmahn, but gladly makes him hot cocoa whenever he asks. She loves that her creations seem to have a calming affect on the otherwise high-strung firenewt, and is happy to see his demeanor get a little bit softer every time he and Blinky come in for a treat.
