Randall Bordin

Profile

Randall is a fairly-affluent man who got involved unwittingly in the business of magic item smuggling. He has a propensity to drink and is very fiscally irresponsible. Randall is also prone to paranoia, and even when he isn't receiving death threats, he will often lock himself inside his mansion and not receive any guests. Despite this, he is known for being very gullible, and some have stated that it feels like a coin flip whether Randall will trust you or not on any given day.

Relationships

Sage and "Blobitha"

Randall met these two while they were disguised as home gym salespeople (with Blinky going by the name "Blobitha"). Randall trusted them implicitly, likely because he is not confident in his ability to protect himself and would like to train to be able to do so. Sage managed to get his number, and he seemed interested in following up at some point to actually get a home gym installed in his house.

At Arthur's masquerade ball, Sage and Blinky ran into Randall again, but he was too drunk to remember it the next day. He is still unaware that the two don't actually work for Swole Inc., or that Swole Inc. isn't a real company.

The Party

Randall was absolutely too drunk to remember what happened at the masquerade ball, but is thankful for the party for helping take care of him while he was inebriated. He is especially grateful for some unknown heroes giving him the heads up about Arthur turning to dust so he could go loot the mansion to try to make up for his losses.

Arthur Crolly and the smuggling ring

Randall had somehow gotten ahold of the orb of polymorph that Arthur wanted, and received death threats from the smuggling ring disguised as a friendly letter from Newton Crumley. Not much is known about the specifics of how this deal went down, but Arthur ended up getting the orb from Randall at least a week before the masquerade ball, and spared Randall's life (but not his wallet).

Despite the fact that Arthur "ruined Randall financially" and "took it all from him", Randall still showed up to the masquerade ball. He said he was there for the free alcohol, but intel suggests that he was still under the smuggling ring's thumb to some extent. Perhaps with the death of Arthur, he'll have less ties to the organization, and can put some distance between himself and the whole ordeal.

Plot Events

"The Bordin Honeypot Scheme"

Having grown increasingly nervous by the day, Randall was all too accepting of the generous offer made by home gym experts Sage and "Blobitha" to install some equipment that would help him prepare for any potential confrontations he might find himself in. Randall allowed the two inside his home, where he was charmed and distracted by Sage (who looked a lot more fit and capable of lifting heavy objects than usual) as Blinky made their way through his private study and located one very incriminating letter. The pair quickly left, with the offer to come back and do the installation soon, now that the measurements were all taken, leaving Randall with a fake url for the Swole Inc. website.

"A Magical Ball ~ or ~ Partying Like Animals"

Some time after the visit from the Swole Inc. representatives, Randall was visited by members of the smuggling ring he'd been trying to keep away. After coming to an agreement that apparently "ruined Randall financially", the orb of polymorph he'd been keeping hidden found its way into Arthur's grubby little rich-boy mitts.

Despite this, the party still saw Randall at Arthur's ball some days later, drinking his sorrows away. Randall was too drunk to properly communicate his side of the story, and thankfully didn't recognize Sage and Blinky (which was probably aided by the masks they were wearing). After the party had a confrontation with Arthur that culminated in the changeling's untimely dusting, they returned to Randall to tell him to loot the place in the ensuing chaos, which he did gladly (and drunkenly).
