Mission Briefing

"Our intelligence network has identified a potential player in the trade of illicit magical artifacts. We know there's a deal about to happen, but we don't know the details of when or where. The suspect, Randall Bordin, has been acting strange the past few days, and has been way more paranoid than usual. Traditional stealth operations to get in and retrieve the intel have been much more difficult with Randall on high alert, so I've suggested a change of tactics: distraction. Once you've lowered Randall's guard, find the letter he received from one Newton Crumley and extract its contents. Good luck, and please for the love of Grexcubia try to be a little more subtle than you two usually are. Do a good job and you'll be getting a bonus."

Event Recounting

Blinky and Sage headed to Randall's mansion disguised as salespeople from a fake fitness company called Swole Inc., with Sage assuming the role of a personal trainer and Blinky (under the assumed name "Blobitha") assuming the role of the installations expert. They managed to convince Randall they were there to install a home gym for him, and gained entry into his home. Sage distracted Randall while "Blobitha" located his office, snapped a picture of the letter they were sent to find, and promptly left. Randall believed their lie the entire time (and probably still does). After returning to HQ, Sage and Blinky showed the letter to Venandi and Vena, who helped them decipher the hidden message. What read initially as a love letter of sorts turned out to be a threat, revealing the location and time of a masquerade ball at Arthur Crolly's mansion, which Venandi started pulling strings to allow the team to infiltrate.

Notable Consequences

• Sage now has Randall's number.
• Sage and Blinky fashioned a fake pamphlet for Swole Inc., which they stole from an existing company and changed some logos and numbers. Much to Venandi's chagrin, they included his work line as contact info on the pamphlet. Thankfully, they did not leave the pamphlet behind for fear of being traceable, instead leaving Randall with a messily-written note with a fake web address on it.
• Sage and Blinky said they would be in touch to come back and do the installation (presumably with no intention to actually do so).
