Dwarf

Kingdoms rich in ancient grandeur, halls carved into the roots of mountains, the echoing of picks and hammers in deep mines and blazing forges, a commitment to clan and tradition, and a burning hatred of giants these common threads unite all dwarves.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

Dwarves possess a unique method in which their eye color behaves. Dwarven eye color is determined by the eye color of the parents. As long as both parents share the same eye color, the offspring will share that eye color. When the parental eye color differs, the eye color of the offspring will always result in a milky white sometimes accompanied with blindness.   Eye color signifies pure bloodlines and dwarves with white eyes are shunned and exiled to the deepest pits of dwarven society.

Civilization and Culture

Common Taboos

Dwarves generally hold their ancestors in the highest regard. They pride themselves on their descend to a particular ancestor. Marrying a dwarf outside your line of ancestry goes against this sacred tradition and is considered a grave offense to dwarven integrity.

History

The dwarves pride themselves in their rich history and often sing praise to their ancestors. The dwarves claim they are the children of the Dwaerdur, an extinct race of subterranean people that excelled in technology. It is said that all dwarven lineages van be traced back to six major ancestral figures; Dúrin the Forgehammer, Thrór the Blind, Wardrun the Brave, Kormac the Anvil, Vili the Red and Skadúr Winterbeard.   Since the mysterious disappearance of the Dwaerdur, the dwarves were left to fend for themselves.
