Banishment of Cyric
The most controversial case in the history of the Divine Court, the banishment of Cyric saw the former God of the Dead stripped of his powers and banished from Mount Celestia. Lathander brought the case to court as Cyric's constant schemes and plots had become a danger to the safety of Mount Celestia. he argued that he was to dangerous to be remain in the divine realm and should therefore be removed. The reason for the cases controversy arises from the inequality that exists within the court. The majority of the court is made up of Good aligned Gods, and since decisions are made on a majority vote, it makes in incredibly hard for an Evil God to win their case. However, in this case, many Gods rebelled against the norm and voted against the banishment. As such the case only just passed and Cyric was banished. Many Gods still resent Lathander and the rest of the Good Gods for removing a Deity from the pantheon.
