Cyric
Cyric, whose titles included The Lord of Three Crowns, The Mad God, and The Prince of Lies, was formerly the God of Death and subsequently the monomaniacal God of Lies. He was petty, self-centred, and enjoyed manipulating individuals into ruining or ending their own lives. He was closely associated with murder, conflict, lies, intrigue, and illusions.
He was one of the first two Gods, alongside Lathander, and is believed to be the source of all evil, as well as the forefather of all evil deities in the pantheon of The Capital Isle. His constant meddling in mortal affairs and manipulation of other Deities' faithful caused the Divine Court to introduce The Bystander Principle. Furthermore, he was the only deity to have ever acted on The Godfall Paradox when he assaulted Tyr. His gross misconduct lead to the most controversial trial in the history of the Divine Court, 'The Banishment of Cyric' . Though the final vote was close, Cyric lost the trial and as such was stripped of his powers and removed from Mount Celestia.
Many Gods believe that Lathander and the rest of the Divine Court had no right to banish Cyric and still resent them to this day.

Personal history
The original God of Death, Cyric made the afterlife to be a frightful thing that many mortals dreaded. He ruled over the mortal afterlife with an iron fist for generations until Lathander intervened. Lathander appealed to the Divine court that Cyric shouldn't have such control over mortal souls and successfully removed Cyric from his position. Kelemvor took over as God of the Dead and Cyric was given the new title 'God of Lies'.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Cyric hated most of the other deities, but he held Mystra, Kelemvor and Bane with great contempt.
However, he had particular loathing for his brother Lathander, the God of Birth of renewal. Cyric and Lathander were the first two Gods and are the antithesis of each other. Where Cyric is a god of malice and evil, Lathander is a god of hope and goodness. It is thanks to Lathander that Cyric lost his role as God of Death and was subsequently stripped of his power and banished from Mount Celestia
