The Godfall Paradox

For aeons, Divine beings have been unable to harm one another. The fiends of The Abyss and The Nine Hell's thought this to be unfair as the constant plotting and betrayal of The Lower Plains made their lives even more complicated. They argued to the Divine Court that Gods should be held to the same standard allowing them to harm each other. Lathander countered that there was no point in allowing such a rule since the Gods would never turn on each other. The Fiends then pointed out that if Lathander thought betrayal in the heavens was impossible then there is no reason that he shouldn't allow the rule if only to prove his point.   Agreeing to the terms, the Divine court passed 'The Godfall Paradox', allowing Divine beings to harm each other should they have the desire to.   The Paradox has only had an effect once when Cyric maimed Tyr before his Banishment Trial
