Gralce

Gralce is a language that originated in the market district of Zalgurim where it was a dialect of Empyrian during the later years of the Old Pale Empire. Originally, Gralce was considered to be a corrupt and disreputable mode of speaking. It was associated with activities that bordered on criminality, used as a way to communicate secretly between those who wished to avoid tax inspectors and customs men. It evolved rapidly after the Planar Conformation, achieving respectibilty during the Breach Wars and went on to become the most important tongue on the eastern Myruthean plains, north of the coastal areas, where Sea Speak was more widely used.

Geographical Distribution

Unlike Empyrian, its parent language which gained global recognition, Gralce has only ever been spoken locally within eastern and central Myruthea. This included the cities of Zalgurim, Pale and Ralsimoor. They also spoke a highly accented version of Gralce in Vrandakan.   In the south of the continent, Sea Speak was more prevalent, whilst to the north, Zumash predominated.
