The MANTYN family is a small but prosperous Line in service to DAWN. Their lands, consisting of a single manor, sit astride the western border of DAWN and face the EORLDOM OF SEA-AND-STONE. The family is led by the matron-knight, DELENNE MANTYN, who has held control of her family for nearly thirty years. Her husband and the father of her first two children, JOCON, was a Master of Coin for a Rhuvaellian concern prior to their marriage. He passed away in 41 ET. Her third child, YVAITHE, was born several years after her husband’s death and there has been no declaration of her paternity though there are many rumors.
The MANTYN family line have been southern nobles for nearly 150 years. They were raised from a martial retainer-family by the THOLRIN in -89 BT. This was possible due to THOLRIN’s rising wealth and influence in the EORLDOM OF THE DAWN. But this trend was already failing at the time the MANTYN’s were invested with land and title as vassal knights. By -76 BT, the THOLRIN line and patriarch had strained its relationship with EORL OF THE DAWN and an example was required for stability.
The EORL OF THE DAWN, dismayed by the spreading news and contributors, attempted to over-impress, more ways than just purchasing a new coat. The maps now lay in easy reach but her walk back was agonizing it was likely inevitable that the maps would be stolen and irretrievable.
