Consider this your only, and final warning." —Anonymous noxA Nox is a type of devil, that feeds on the energy emitted from sleeping individuals, as well as dream energy. They are startlingly different in appearance from all other devils.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Nox have the same basic anatomy as most other devils, but there, the similarities end. Nox' skin tone is a deep, cold blue, usually dotted with many white freckles around the face, shoulders, and arms. Their eyes, while still slitted, are a bright cyan-blue, rather than the typical orange. Their hair is snow-white. Although rare among common devils, nox' ears will always be pointed, rather than round.
Biological Traits
When outside of Hell, devils cannot truly be killed. When dealt a fatal wound, they will involuntarily transform into a wisp of black smoke, and be sent back to a regeneration chamber in Hell. The regeneration can take anywhere from two days to three weeks. However, should a devil be mortally wounded while inside of Hell, they are not sent anywhere. Their body must be taken to a regeneration chamber manually. Should they die while inside of Hell, they will stay that way, permanently. Devils have no afterlife, and as such, their soul is simply annihilated upon true death.
Nox are the only species of devil that greatly vary in terms of height and weight, ranging from the size of a child to that of an adult elf.

Nox possess all standard devil abilities, as well as some additional powers:
- Comfort Inducement
- Dream Absorption: If nox are impatient or in a hurry, they will simply consume an individual's dream in its entirety and leave. This causes poor dream recall in the individual after awakening the next day. In severe cases, it may also cause temporary or permanent amnesia.

- Oneiric Metabolization: A certain type of energy is emitted while a person is actively dreaming. This energy is a food source for nox.
- Sleep Dust Generation/Manipulation: All nox have the ability to generate a silvery-white sleep-inducing dust. They can use this dust in any manner they choose.
- Dust Constructs and Dust Solidification: Nox also have the ability to harden and compress this dust into any form, turning it into a weapon. Any contact with these dust constructs induces sleep, along with whatever other injuries the object may cause.

- Soporific Metabolization: A specific, different type of energy is also emitted when an individual is asleep, which nox also feed upon.
- Supernatural Hypnosis: Normally, powers this potent are reserved for after a devil undergoes the transformation to archdevil. However, nox' hypnotic ability is bizarrely powerful, and no known mortal creature can resist its effects.

Common Dress Code
Nox dress the most conservatively of all devils, often wearing loose, thick robes and large scarves. These clothes are usually dark blue with white accents. Their mouths are rarely seen. Some nox choose to wear hoods, others do not.
Nox will commonly have grains of silver sleep dust orbiting them; this is both a method of self-defense, and an aesthetic personal choice.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Surprisingly, nox try to be as diplomatic as possible when interacting with other races, unlike their brethren. Although most races are aware that nox are devils, they are less likely to harbor hostility to nox, as well as any devils that may be accompanying the nox.
