Lady Lunette Natalie Ayers, Agent of Sloth
Lunette Natalie Ayers is a devil, and one of the Seven Sins. Her sin is Sloth.
All seven sins carry with them a weapon of some kind, bearing their symbol. The Symbol of Sloth is three "Z"s. The weapon of Sloth is a minigun.
Physical Description
Unlike most devils, Lunette has a form similar to that of a child, instead of being physically attractive.
Lunette's tail is dark pink, and ends in a heart-like protrusion.
Lunette's horns are small, and they emerge and curve tightly downward around her head, somewhat akin to the horns of a young mouflon.
Lunette's dominant hand is her left.
- Sloth Embodiment: As the Sin of Sloth, Lunette possesses the following abilities:
- Apathy Inducement
- Depression Inducement: Lunette, perhaps because of its close association with lethargy and lack of motivation, has the power to both induce and amplify depression in people to varying and significant degrees.
- Speed Cancellation/Stillness Inducement: Lunette possesses the ability to bring anyone and anything (save the gods) to a halt. Bullets stop midair and fall to the ground, any oncoming threat becomes frozen in place, etc. Lunette robs the target of not only its speed, but also its innate kinetic potential, rendering it completely inert.
- Kinetic Negation Field
- Paralysis Inducement
- Sleep Inducement: Lunette has the ability to induce sleep in people and creatures, but the amount of strength behind this power borders on bizarre; any living thing Lunette puts to sleep cannot be woken by any means, short of the God of Sleep or a nox intervening. In fact, soporific ability of this level is typically reserved for nox and nox alone; Lunette possessing it might only further indicate, and reinforce, her status as the Sin of Sloth.
- Sloth Empowerment: Lunette's primary food source is other people's laziness, and when she feeds, she gains a temporary boost in power.
- Sloth Inducement: Lunette can induce laziness in people.
- Supernatural Condition: As a devil, Lunette possesses several natural boosts:
- Supernatural Strength, Type III: Lunette has godlike strength, able to lift whole skyscrapers and destroy mountains.
- Supernatural Speed, Type II: Lunette is able to move incredibly fast, becoming invisible to the naked eye. She can outpace any form of transportation that currently exists.
- Supernatural Reflexes: Lunette can react to an attack or movement many times faster than even an elf.
- Supernatural Perception/Detection: Lunette is able to sense life force, magical signatures and heat signatures, allowing nothing to evade her notice.
- Supernatural Senses: Lunette's sense of hearing, smell, sight, and touch are greatly heightened compared to all other races.
- Transcendent Umbramancy: Lunette's magical abilities and power are on the level of a minor god.
Lunette usually wears the same type of attire every day: a plain t-shirt with either pajama pants or pajama shorts.
Lunette possesses the Weapon of Sloth, which is a multi-barreled minigun, having three different barrels that spin independently from each other, and can be fired simultaneously. The Weapon of Sloth draws upon the user's magic reserves, which, as a devil, Lunette has plenty of. It can be fired as long as she has magic to spare. The "bullets" it shoots are black with a red glow to them.
Mental characteristics
Lunette was born not long after the death of the original Sloth - as well as the death of the original Wrath. From the very beginning, ever since Lunette could comprehend the situation the angels had forced the devils into, she had an almost unquenchable hatred of Heaven and all it represented. Long before any new Sins were being considered, many believed that if such a thing were to happen, Lunette would be slated to become the new Wrath. She was merciless, cruel, and an unstoppable force on the battlefield. Hundreds upon hundreds of angels fell before her over many years, and for a time, Lunette was convinced that one day, she would be able to bring down heaven and the Goddess of Light, Evelyn, once and for all.
For nearly ten thousand years, Lunette slaughtered angel after angel, platoon after platoon. Her obsession was unending and bordered on insanity. Every death of one of her fellow devils only amplified her hatred and rage, reminding her of what her purpose was. But, it was not to last. For one day, after having killed a particularly strong team of angels, Lunette was about to leave and return to Hell. But the area around her suddenly grew unfathomably bright, and she turned to look when the light had faded.
There, floating before her, was Evelyn herself. The Goddess of Light, unprotected and wide open. Lunette saw an opportunity, but before she could strike, Evelyn turned to Lunette, and with a mere sharp gaze, unbearable pain coursed through her body, light enveloping her like a cocoon. While Lunette was incapacitated, Evelyn showed her utter contempt and disgust for her. She stated that the pain Lunette was feeling now hardly compared to the pain of watching her own children be murdered in cold blood, over and over.
Through the pain, confusion swept through Lunette. Over and over? She had been killing new angels every time, hadn't she? As if reading Lunette's mind, Evelyn glared with pure hatred, and spread her arms. In one grand motion, the entire sky opened up, clouds parting with ease. Looking down upon Lunette were millions of angels, every single one of them prepared to attack. In disbelief, Lunette gazed into the crowd, recognizing faces she thought she'd never see again, angels she had killed hundreds of years ago. With contempt, Evelyn asked Lunette if she really thought a mother would let any of her children truly disappear, to which Lunette had no answer. Sensing a shift in Lunette's will and personality, Evelyn released Lunette from the cocoon of light, letting her fall to her knees.
Ten thousand years of worthless effort. Every angel she had ever killed would always just be resurrected by Evelyn, ready to fight again. Her whole life, the time she'd spent trying to wipe out as many angels as she could...pointless. Evelyn stared at Lunette for a few seconds, then turned away, telling her that if she would like to survive, her best option would be to stay in hell and rot. With that, the clouds closed, and the Goddess of Light shimmered into her true form. Lunette, unprepared, witnessed Evelyn in all her glory, and was killed instantly, her body bursting into smoke and whisked away back to Hell.
In the regeneration chamber, Lunette sat for a long time, her mind unable to process anything that had happened. Soon, though, she fell into a near-bottomless depression, and without leaving the regeneration chamber, knowing she could never truly die, Lunette rolled over, and went to sleep. She slept for years, leading many to believe she had gone missing. Years turned into decades, decades into centuries. By the time Lunette had woken up again, Hell, and the world outside, had changed greatly. But Lunette no longer cared. She returned to her home on the surface level of Hell, and stayed there almost indefinitely, only leaving to feed. Upon trying to feed on mortal anger, Lunette found that she no longer could. Instead, she eventually discovered that she could now only feed on depressive and slothful energies. In the midst of this discovery, Lunette became the first of the new Seven Sins, the symbol of Sloth appearing above her head. Resigned to her new fate, Lunette leaned into it, dropping into a daily cycle of sleeping, eating, and playing video games, with little else to speak of.
Knowing that her brothers and sisters would never be revived like the angels would, she stopped making connections with others, accepting that in time, they would most likely die to an angel, their soul held hostage for all eternity and prevented from reforming. As the other Seven Sins started being born, they occasionally came to visit; Neikona was the only one Lunette allowed to get close to her. The others tried on multiple occasions to get her to participate in taking down angels, but Lunette had lived far longer, and knew better. She flatly refused, every single time. To date, very little has changed about her lifestyle, save Neikona visiting to enjoy gaming with her on the regular.
Lunette has had no proper education. She learns things by picking up on them from other people.
Lunette is currently employed as the Sin of Sloth, and as an Overlord in Hell's army.
Lunette's only achievements are becoming one of the Seven Sins and becoming an Overlord.
After being soundly beaten by Evelyn and being shown that any angel she kills will be resurrected, Lunette lost her will to fight and almost her will to live on.
Lunette will take whatever action requires the least amount of effort. She does not believe in the value of hard work and sees it as wasted energy. Even when she's forced to do her duties, she does them lazily, without any regard for the results. She sees social relationships as doomed to fail and makes no attempt to maintain friendships.
Like most devils, Lunette wants nothing to do with angels.
Personality Characteristics
Lunette seemingly has no motivation of any kind: she spends most of her days asleep or playing video games.
Lunette is good at video games. She's one of the heaviest sleepers in Hell, and is a "master lucid dreamer" (self-proclaimed.) She's terrible at maintaining friendships, keeping order, giving out commands, or work of any kind.
Likes: Sleeping, video games, lucid dreaming, animals
Dislikes: Work, people, angels
Lunette's lazy nature means that most of the time, she won't cause trouble for anyone, whether they're a friend or foe. The only time she does is when she needs to feed.
Lunette is lazy and self-centered, and will not do anything she doesn't want to do. She has no regard for other people.
Lunette, although lazy, strangely has excellent hygiene. Other devils have asked her why this is, and she simply shrugs nonchalantly, not giving any real answer.
Social
Lunette, being one of the Seven Sins, is comrades with Rylitus, Aelera, Vazios, Deremos, Selena, and Neikona. She is the foil of Cera, the Virtue of Diligence, and an enemy to the other Seven Virtues. Erebos, the God of Darkness, is her true father, but they are estranged.
Lunette does not frequently contact members of her family or her parents. The God of Darkness, Erebos, is her biological father, but she is estranged from him.
Like all devils, Lunette believes in the God of Darkness. However, she does not actively worship the god.
Lunette has no regard for, and is even impatient with, social interaction. She sees it as a waste of time and effort, and will end a conversation as quickly as she can so she can go back to what she was doing.
Lunette's voice is consistently quiet, and usually has a tone of irritation to it, be it when she's talking to other people or otherwise.
