Titan Scream Hold

Titan Scream Hold is the largest and most populated city on Molten Heart, and is home to The Guild Order. This is largely due to its role as a production hub, where raw resources are turned into useful goods and materials for use or sale in the other Holds. With a skyline dominated by the imposing black steel of Defiance Tower,  Titan Scream is a largely subterranean city, as most of it is dug into the sides of the canyons that surround the dark monument. At the bottom of the canyons, among huge piles of waste and garbage from the city above, the poorest and most exploited citizens eek out a meager existence.

Demographics

The population of Titan Scream is divided between Doro and Gobi, with the later group outnumbering the other 50 to one. The Doro mainly live within the fortress that is Defiance Tower, while the Gobi populate the subterrainian areas of the city, or else live on the floor of the caverns that surround the tower.     The majority of the Gobi who live on the cavern's floor are refugees who fled the fall of Coal Blood Hold 50 years ago.

Defences

Titan Scream Hold is surrounded by a huge parameter wall, standing 100 meters high. The walls are arrayed with hundreds of cannons, both material and magical, and maintain a squadron of specialized fighter Zephyr Chariots 100 Gobi strong for aerial defense.    The walls are staffed with hundreds of members of the The Warrior's Guild, made up of Doro and Gobi ready to lay down their lives for their home.

Industry & Trade

Titan scream has dozens of factories, plants, and processing centers, where raw goods are processed and turned into usable components for manufacturing in other cities. Goods constantly flow into the city via Land Riders, specifically large specially designed cargo-haulers that follow set tracks, while component parts flow out of the city via the very same trains.

Infrastructure

The surface of Titan Scream Hold (that is between the parameter walls and before the caverns) is dominated by hauler Land Rider tracks and temporary storage facilities, which felicitate the movement of cargo in and out of the city. Bridges crisscross the caverns, allowing for the haulers to easily move around the surface, and transfer to different lines.    Titan Scream Hold, and the other Holds like it, have an interesting way of dealing with biological waste. Using the power of gravity and engineering, they've dug a system of pipes that funnel sewage down beneath the city, where it is then melted in the liquid magma that composes the island's core.   A small airfield exists inside the city's walls as well, staffed and maintained by The Iron Band, in case the odd visitor comes to the city via Sky Ship. The The Band also keeps a few of their own vessels here, in the unlikely event that anyone would ever try to strike the Hold.

Districts

The Hold is divided into three loose districts, the Defiance Tower, the Warrens, and the Trash Pit.   Defiance Tower is a huge tower that stands in the center of the city. It is the home of the Doro and some Gobi who have either proven themselves worthy in the eyes of The Guild Order, or work as servants.   The Warrens is the most populated section of the city, and is mainly populated by Gobi. Within the warrens are residences, factories, warehouses, and municipal offices that oversee the function of the lower-city. There are also a number of houses of pleasure, theaters, and bars, which serve to keep the population entertained. Both The Mechanist Guild and The Skywright Guild maintain a headquarters here, where they co-ordinate the production of components in the Titan's factories, and their shipment to the other cities on Molten Heart.   The Trash Pit is the second most populated portion of the city, and was never intended to be an official district. This part of town is largely occupied by the poorest of the poor, those unable to work, or grunt workers of the factories in the warrens. While each hold guarantees a basic income to its citizens, in line with The Guild Order's equity mandate, the population here is not considered to be true citizens of Titan Scream Hold, as they are largely refugees from Coal Blood Hold (despite the fact that most of them were born in Titan Scream, as Coal Blood Hold fell more than 50 years ago). The Trash Pit gains its name from the huge piles of refuse that have built up over the centuries of Titan Scream's existence, which are largely ancient construction materials, run-off or waste from the factories, or just the general garbage produced by a large active city.  As such, the people of the Trash Pit have had to get creative in order to survive. A small, but lucrative black market has formed over the years, on which you can buy goods not approved The Guild Order. Additionally, for the right price, individuals can purchase passage off the island with a smugglers ship.

History

Titian Scream Hold was one of the first Holds founded by the Doro when they emerged from the rocky womb of Molten Heart. Forcing the Gobi tribes into submission, and binding them both in a shared constitution guaranteeing basic rights, the Doro and the Gobi erected the first of Molten Heart's intimidating cities of stone and black metal.

Architecture

Titan Scream Hold is one part dystopian factory city, one part evil fortress. Buildings are made of black steel, concrete, or otherwise carved from the stone Molten Heart itself. Pips run everywhere, moving natural gas to the factories and moving exhaust out of the city (and to a series of smokestacks outside of the city known as the Fingies). Surfaces are plastered in propaganda glorifying The Guild Order   The Warrens are brutalist, designed for function over form. The tower and the wall, as well as all surface-level architecture is designed in a meal neo-gothic style that is all sharp edges, intricate detail, and intimidation factor. The Trash Pit is largely ramshackle, constructed from the waste materials the city sends tumbling down into the district.

Natural Resources

Volcanic fissures are located at the bottom of the caverns in which the city is built (near the Trash-Pit), which produce several flammable natural gasses. A huge network of pipes snake around the bottom of the caverns and up the cavern walls (where not covered in garbage), feeding the gasses into the city, where they are burned to power the factories of the Warrens.
