Jeit Union (JAYT)

A private academy typical of others in Unenshuut focusing on advanced adult education in particular trade skills or fields. In this case, the Jeit Union was established to explore facets of both botany and medicine.   Aguthsha Intoh was a notable member (joined: 976AC) and by association, it can count ikam and Intoh's wasp as two of its contributions to the field.

Culture

Like its ilk, the Jeit Union also had a certain guild-like quality.

Public Agenda

Exploration and study of the natural world to further understanding of natural medicine and promote collaborative ecology.

Assets

A building containing a meeting hall, small library, office, and three labs.

History

General Background   These academies have arisen in recent years as a response to the country's traditional belief that no further organized education is needed upon reaching young adulthood, and that a desire for further learning beyond that point is usually seen as strange and wasteful when compared to making oneself useful to society. Many see it as a response, in particular, to the neighboring Ustraria's reputation as a 'land of ideas', despite Unenshuut's more rigorous demands for thorough education at a lower level (their cost regardless).   The Intoh Expedition of 985AC   A standard domestic 'expedition' led by Aguthsha Intoh to the Veldu’nan Palace area of Gell's Landing to acquire soil and fungi samples from its coast was arranged in the early Season of Opening of 985AC. Three mercenaries were hired to escort and guard the four-man research team due to a rash of bandits in the area. It departed Keismeb on the 48th Day and traveled via Hooth's River and the Tubisqu River to arrive on the 49th Day.   After moving camp closer to the Veldu'nan Palace on the evening of the 50th Day, on the morning of the 51st Day Aguthsha entered the Inebi Grove and within it, discovered the ikam.   Post- War of the Six The vast majority of its members (including Aguthsha Intoh) died during the war or shortly thereafter from the Bitter Hand, effectively dissolving the Union; those that remained either retired, relocated, or were absorbed into other unions. Their labs were raided repeatedly.
