Inebi Grove (Inn-EBB-ee)

A once-pleasant, scenic grove of ikam bush-trees in an isolated, small glen near the Veldu’nan Palace in Gell's Landing. At the time of its discovery/naming, there were thirty-two specimens: sixteen presumed-mature, at approximately six and a half feet tall; eight at approximately 3'3; and eight saplings at approximately 1'8. Toward the end of the year, eight others were planted and by the following year, had successfully germinated, bringing the total number of specimens to forty.   The grove was discovered and named by Aguthsha Intoh; 'inebi' is comprised of the Shekoldahn terms 'ineb' for 'shadow'/'shade' and 'bi' for 'tree'.

Geography

A small, forested glen situated down the hill, north, from the Veldu’nan Palace, and otherwise surrounded by low rolling hills and forests.

Localized Phenomena

Though biologists were not able to determine its exact properties prior to its destruction, channelers remarked that, while it was near an Ega leyline and its Ega generally appeared normal, an indescribable feeling of something being 'off'. Despite a lack of verifiable scientific reasoning for this, the presence of the ikam -- and the inability to propogate it elsewhere -- suggested unique conditions.

Fauna & Flora

Ikam (now extinct), Intoh's wasp.

History

Following the Veldu'nan Palace falling into disuse and property restrictions thus lifting, the Jeit Union sent a small group of biologists led by Aguthsha Intoh to the area to study local mushrooms. Arriving on the 50th Day of the Season of Opening, the team made camp; the following day, Aguthsha discovered the small group of trees and named them ikam and the area the Inebi Grove.   Once the implications of the fruit were realized and the Violet Accord and the Pact of the Blessèd formed as a result, ultimately leading to the War of the Six, the palace and the grove also became the small, intense theater for the Widow's Siege, the penultimate conflict.   The grove was destroyed when Aguthsha released the Plague of the Bitter Hand on the 33rd Day of the Season of Ripening, 989AC.
