Plevuud

The plevuud is one of three types of currency (collectively, colloquially, called the three hungers) used in Unenshuut along with the siyravuud and meix, and is the one that also translates into international commerce. It is the only one of the three that utilizes metal and traditional minting, but all three have equal numeric value. During the War of the Six it was not accepted by Iyr or Ustraria, but post-war is beginning to be accepted again.   The plevuud is a rustic, roughly 1", wax seal -like stamped medallion of ozé ore refined with powdered cypusar shell to give it a slightly blue luster; the stamp is the Unenshuut crest. Due to its roughly oval shape, it is sometimes called a thumbprint or thumb. In Unenshuut it is exclusively used for the exchange of non-essential physical goods ('house goods', i.e., anything not to do with food, medicine, warmth, or shelter), and to attempt otherwise is seen as crass/uneducated. The only exception where the plevuud may be used to purchase 'blood goods' are when importing goods from other countries. Its abbreviation is 'ple'.
