Session 23: Agave Scouts Ahead, Waking up in Prison and Escaping Thera Relovut!

General Summary

Agave Scouts Ahead!
With the help of Kaswink, Agave made his way to the surface utilizing the shape of a large toad that was seen in the forest/swampy area that you all are in. Namina provided Agave the grace of a cat to better sneak through the camp, and Kaswink lifted him to the surface with a makeshift ladder.   Agave made his way to the nearby command tent where Kaswink informed him Logren is waiting. He was careful to sneak in the opposite side, avoiding detection, and was able to catch his first glimpse of the interior of this tent.   It was oddly...solid. While the wall moved like any other canvas tent, while inside it looked like a solid wall. Paintings were hanging showing off different, likely important, Myotlings along with a painting for Ilven in particular. A table at the center had what looked like a collection of items such as a notepad, abacus, gardening equipment and a pole with several holes drilled into it.
Agave took a gander at these wacky items before making a mental note to check them and the map out later. His lil toad ears picked up the sounds of conversation on the other side of a nearby partition. Agave was very sneaky as he squeezed underneath this canvas wall, and while it, again, looked solid it did move as he pried it up. On the otherside of this bit of canvas he saw four Myotlings, likely all from Ilven's Court, arguing with Logren over some conversation which he had just caught the tailend of.   In particular, he picked up on some dialogue which suggested these Myotlings wanted Logren to consider releasing the prisoners so that they can look for Ilven. For whatever reason they didn't have the authority to do this, but Logren did. It's unclear why that is.   Agave continued listening to this conversation for as long as he could, though as soon as he was on the other side of the canvas wall he was spotted by one of the members of this court. This curious myotling had the appearance of a butterfly woman with the antennae, wings, and general appearance of a Zebra Longwing Butterfly. She wears the usual court coat with tails and a ruffled collar over a long dress made of grape leaves. She attempted to pick Agave up while he was in toad form, and when he hopped away she continued squatting nearby while watching him before giggling and resuming her position near the others.
The other three of these myotlings were a bit concerned by her actions. While things were a bit awkward and Agave was pretending to be a regular toad, he was able to get a glimpse of the cached weapons/other gear. Three of these myotlings left leaving Ob and Logren behind to continue the conversation. As they departed, Agave picked up on them discussing his toad existence and laughing about how he interrupted their meeting.   The argument that took place between Ob and Logren was largely just Ob trying to convince him to let you go. He tried desperately to get Logren on your side, but Logren seemed to be the more stubborn party. Ob eventually left, and Logren collapsed with his head in his hands for a moment before lifting his head to stare at Agave for a minute. He didn't seem suspicious of the toad, but just stared at him until Agave left.
During Agave's lengthy wait for Logren to leave, a random myotling citizens approached from behind him and attempted to pick him up. This citizen seemed mostly just excited to find a new toad friend, but Agave scared her off by puffing himself up and hissing.   When Agave went back inside to inspect the table and map, he found that the strange items on top were gone with only a very familiar rapier left behind. The map underneath this rapier showed the location of several mothlight trees, much like Tympi's own map, and there were some new Xs that were marking some unknown thing or purpose. Agave made a mental note of one of the nearby Xs to later investigate.   Growing bored of this table, Agave went back to the office where Logren was chilling. He hoped to grab his component pouch, and when he crawled beneath the canvas he saw Logren was standing in a far corner staring into this corner. He was motionless, his hands were behind his back, and he almost seemed like a child being punished for some misdeed.   He didn't turn to look at Agave during the entire exchange, but when Agave attempted to grab his component pouch Logren sighed, heavily. Agave paused for a moment before releasing the component pouch back into the basket. As he started to leave, hoping to be ignored, Logren spoke while continuing to stare into the corner.   "Aren't you going to take that? It won't help you. You will not leave this place."   Logren lifted the exit and left Agave alone with the gear. Agave was able to bring his component pouch back to the prison before it was time to fall asleep.
Meanwhile, before sleep and while Agave was out exploring, Namina read a great deal of the romance novel The Trellis to My Heart.   Kaswink attempted to dig out the chains found in this prison, and she discovered that, similar to the last time she tried, her own mind warned her against even digging these chains out of the wall. She continued trying to dig, pushing past the pain and the need to not do this. As she dug at the stone wall that these chains were attached to she felt more and more exhausted, migraines, mental anguish, and she eventually fell unconscious. Connecting minds to chains, kinda painful, though...what is knowledge, anyways?   Namina used her own life energy to revive Kaswink up to a state that she wouldn't be feral, and everyone agreed it was time to sleep.   A small hole was dug for Namina along with a bit of some magically fabricated water.
♫Waking up in a Jail Cell Somewhere in Pluarsh Ec Relovut♫
In the morning, ... the very early morning, you Spiritual Travelers rose from your uncomfortable slumber to find that you were still very much in prison.   Kaswink and Namina had a slightly more disturbing time waking up as they had found that their legs/fin were itchy. Further investigation led them both to find that they had 3 very itchy spots with critters mostly burrowed into their flesh. Kaswink inspected the bugs closer to find that they were some wacky Spirit World Ticks. Hysteria also looked one over discovering that they had odd ticking noises coming from their heads, and promptly ate one of Namina's ticks.   Kaswink tried eating one of the ticks and found that one of the 8 years she had lost overnight were restored upon consuming it. Namina only had two ticks remaining so could not get as many potential years back.
After the ticks were taken care of as best as they could be, another concern was at hand: Getting out of here and getting your equipment. Conveniently enough, an anonymous benefactor left your gear that had been taken by Logren. In addition to the weapons/other gear there was a Lantern with a handle at the top that looked designed to be held and carried by hand. The lid of this lantern had trees, moths, frogs and mushrooms carved into its surface.   Namina was the first to reach for the Lantern, and as she held it and instinctively blinked her eyes she saw a strange vision that lasted for only as long as her eyes were blinking. She closed them again to see a softly glowing Mothlight Tree with a stone throne being wrapped in roots and partially underground. It was raining in this vision with similar ferocity as the rain that could faintly be heard through the trapdoor down the hall. This led her to believe it was somewhere nearby.   She tried closing her eyes a few more times to see what would happen and saw different scenes from the forest. In some of these scenes it was raining and in others it was pleasant, or foggy, or any other type of foresty weather. She brought the lantern to Agave for further study and to see if the location in the lantern could be discerned.   Not much luck, unfortunately Agave was unable to tell exactly which mothlight tree this location could be based on description, and when he tried to see the vision he saw different scenes of the forest, but no throne. Namina tried to find it again, but the throne vision never showed up again. Notably, each vision always had a mothlight tree in it.
After experimenting with the lantern, an escape plan was devised. Some suggestions were put forward: Sneaking Out and not being seen, running like hell and getting away fast, but whatever the option the most important thing was to avoid Logren. Kaswink was aware of his location, and he seemed a good distance away from camp. Frode was handed the lantern, DAN was given the grace of a cat thanks to Namina, and the escape began.
Escaping Thera Relovut
Using Kaswink's previously installed makeshift ladder, you made it to the surface and further discussion was had as to how to proceed. Hysteria snuck ahead, and the lot of you stopped near a guard tower to determine if it would be better to run or sneak. While you were making this decision a voice could be heard from the nearby tower.   "Shhhh, you'll wake them all up!"   You continued sneaking, hoping to make as little noise as possible, and you were mostly ignored. Perhaps a little bit too ignored. Frode saw glimpses of visions but decided to ignore them. While approaching the apparent gate nearby, another guard tower was seen and Kaswink picked up the barely visible wings of some creature inside. She subconsciously raised her hand and put whatever was inside to sleep as the rest of you heard an audible thud.   The nearby threat was disposed of, and Hysteria had made their way to the locked gate. They were able to pick it with ease, though as they were picking this lock, Kaswink felt Logren approaching camp as the mark on him vanished. She warned the group, and Namina ran ahead to alert Hysteria. While she was doing so a small bottle fell from a nearby stand causing a bit more panic in the group.
A decision needed to be made and fast: Rush past Logren, confront him, sneak around? The choice that was made was to rush forward and get past Logren if he is seen. Frode was well ahead, and as you all made it a good ways out of the gate a familiar mantis man stepped out from behind a tree. He calmly raised his hands and instructed you to stop. Most of you did so, but Frode kept running. Logren seemed unbothered by this.   He seemed nonhostile at the very least, and he began to actually beg for you to find Ilven.   “Please, find her. We may cross paths again out there… I’ll be searching until she is found, and, if you find her first, I guess I’ll owe you one. Take this, keep in touch if you learn anything about her, please.”   He placed a small parcel on the ground. It looked to be about the size of a jam jar with paper wrapped up and around the top with a bit of twine and a card. As he placed it on the ground he immediately ran into the woods, likely hoping to not be followed.   While you had escaped the camp of Thera Relovut, you still weren't out of danger yet as the massive swamp of Pluarsh ec Relovut still surrounded you. It's many dangers both natural and magical will likely pose a challenge over the days to come as you make your way to Dorchar. The first of these challenges has possibly already presented itself within the first 4 hours of travel. The last thing witnessed before the session ended was the sound of being underwater around a hundred feet away. Namina was the first to break from the group to go investigate and Hysteria was close behind.
