CC: Session 5: Big Trouble in Little Ruk Rak Report
General Summary
Having received a distress call from Yo-Dime, the party rushed to Sakura. After fighting off the customers turned ghouls, reinforcements from Dak appeared. Axe joined the party, guitar out, ready to continue his personal quest.
After feeling an explosion from underground and seeing a magical trap, Yo-Dime left the party for the second entrance, but Boots, concerned about "magic shit" followed closely behind.
Seeking a way into the hideout, Carbide phased through the door and kicked it open from the other side. Unfortunately, that was enough to activate the magic glyph and caused an explosion. As explosions continued, they pressed onward. Moving forward they noticed a burning library and heard the muffled grunts of Carbide's friend Oaks. Focusing on a friend in need, they rushed past the fire and headed toward the meditation chamber.
Seeing Yo-Dime pinned down my magic missiles, Boots acted as bait and helped to get the door open. Yo-Dime held the door as a legion of Black Riders appeared and Boots rushed into the hideout.
Arriving at the training hall at the same time, the party found themselves up against a ghast patrolling the area. Making quick work of the beast, they pressed deeper into the dungeon.
Reaching a crossroads, Carbide was torn by hearing the cries of two friends, in two separate directions. Izden in one direction and Oaks in the other. Trying to sneakly open each door, the party ended up attracting attention in both directions.
To the east, two clockwork dragons with Tagera Group logos attacked Izden seemingly looking to capture the old man. Taking point, Axe and Vox held the monsters at bay. Hearing that the decryption key could stop them, Boots went off running for it.
To the west, Carbide witnessed a monsterous beast blow open a secret room and murder Oaks. With Mellow as back up, they confronted the threat.
Destroying one clockwork monster, Vox and Axe sought to save Izden before he could be captured. At the same time, Boots opened a door releasing two more undead figures into the fold.
With a magically empowered blow from his katana, Carbide nearly felled the intruder but it grasped hold of them freezing Carbide in place. Returned as an undead thrall, Oaks used the moment to attempt to attack Carbide. Summoning a lance of ice, Mellow killed the Black Riders agent and released Carbide from his hold.
With a song of healing from Axe, Izden awoke and the mechanical dragon was destroyed. Securing Izden they secured their ground and prepared to save Boots.
Seeing no life left in the eyes of Oaks, Carbide killed the shadow of his old friend, putting him to rest. They then entered into the temple and connected to the servers. Carbide saw all of what The Ether could be. They saw the glory, connection, unity, and equality. Then they saw the worst it could be...the darkness. Dripping ooze from webs corrupted the plane, and it held within it Horus-the personified abstract construct of progress itself.
Rushing to save Boots, Yo-Dime rentred, with the corpses of countless Black Riders at her feet. She rushed to Carbide, while Vox, Mellow, and Axe secured the last of the stronghold.
Stepping into he meditation room, Yo-Dime spoke to Carbide. She spoke of progress and unity. She spoke of Horus, and she spoke of Carbide, the fourth and final son, as a last hope.
Searching through Yo-Dime's personal belonging, Boots learned that one of the Black Riders, Night, was using taxation to keep the people of Ring 6: Plague Borough down. Vox used the personal terminal to hack some Tagera Group files, learning that Tano fear nothing but her father and grandfather.
Yo-Dime asked Carbide if they were ready to join the fight and become the final son of Horus. Being plugged into The Ether, they were given an oath-a user license agreement. Reading it out loud, Carbide committed:
Meeting back up with Dak, the party decrypted the codes gained from Poison. Dak and Carbide deciphered that Rali had recently been doing research on the human genome on the science ship the Stargazer. Looking at the ancient dinosaurs of their ancestors, Rali appeared to be searching for a way to better control the Humans. The ship is currently registered as being within Ring 5: Transport Nexus, but its set to be demolished and "cleansed" within 24 hours.
Boots decided it was time to finally try some drugs. Quickly becoming addicted, he spent the entire night surfing conspiracy boards. In which he discovered rumors of a beast called The Mangler, a horrific creature that serves as Tano's personal bodyguard and assassin.

Yo-Dime asked Carbide if they were ready to join the fight and become the final son of Horus. Being plugged into The Ether, they were given an oath-a user license agreement. Reading it out loud, Carbide committed:
- United We Stand. Where there is division and strife, you will unite disparate factions into a force to be reckoned with. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
- The Future is Now. You shall embrace advancement and change. Whether it be new discoveries, technological breakthroughs, or even a fresh point of view, it all leads to valuable growth.
- Discard Tradition. Those who cling to tradition and superstition are only holding themselves back. You must abandon old feuds and rivalries in order to keep moving forward.
Standing again as a paladin of Horus, Carbide led the party into the parking garage so they could return home to rest.
Inside the garage, Axe searched the corpses of the Black Riders and discovered the heiarchy of the gang: Canine, Nova, Night. They then had Yo-Dime agree to allow them to keep a set of 5 bikes for use by the party.
Heading to the meeting point with Crumbs, the party stubled upon a group of Brass Bloods organized by Boost. Axe convinced him to put a temporary end to the roughing up of villagers in return for the rest of the Black Riders' bikes at Sakura.
Meeting back up with Dak, the party decrypted the codes gained from Poison.
