House Rules
- Planar travel has been shut down for over a thousand years.
- This also affects spells like Teleportation and Teleportation Circle; both are effectively 'lost' spells
- Resurrection magic is a lot harder to cast; those who die or have died see the Elysium Fields as empty and barren. We're working with the Critical Role resurrection rules so it's a little harder to pop back up after hitting zero.
- A lot of fantasy species no longer exist/have been modified to look human due to the Empire. Please see below for some options.
Player Options
Elves -
Wood Elves tend to be on
Starhold, but some are with the High
Elves and
Pallid Elves in
New Abhaile. Drow are often found in
New Abhaile, but there's also a lot of them in the underdark, so far moisturised, in their lane, unbothered by the above world.
Dwarves -
Dwarves can be split into
Clay Dwarves and
Frost Dwarves.
Hobgoblins - usually from
Wayhawke. Easy going, chill dudes with a hierachal structure that puts family (especially parents and elders) on top.
Humans - just ordinary men! just normal men!
Human-Hybrids - the eradication of non-human species in the areas the Empire took over left echoes in the DNA of those left behind. You can find a
Halfling Blooded Human, or a
Goblin Blooded Human, or an
Aarakocra Blooded Human or an
Orc Blooded Human, and others in cities around the empire.
Sea Elf - you can generally find Sea
Elves in
The Quiet Sea above the wreck of Criteas.
Aasimar - once thought wiped out by the Empire, a few
Half Human Half Aasimar have been found in
Aureola, hiding themselves from the Imperial war machine (incl Angel).
Tiefling - Not treated well by the world, very few Tieflings survive. Those that do often learn either how to blend in very well, or fall under the protection of others.
Dragonborns - hunted by the empire for their links to the long forgotten dragons, dragonborn are a canny and collaborative group who tend to stay in the underdark, where they can keep themselves safe.
Hollow Ones - empty bodies without souls, these are sent into the world by a great necromancer, like
Lethe of
The Grand Necropolis, to explore and bring back news.
Kenku - too creepy for even the Empire to destroy, Kenku were cursed in ancient times to never be able to fly, or speak with their own voices. The rumour is, they're originally from
Shadowfell. One or two may be able to find their way back there.
