The Portal
In the centre of one of the larger cobbled plazas, a raised dais of stone has a large runic circle carved into it. This is the gateway to and from Daring Heights, and thus Kantas. Individual travellers, small visiting parties, even whole convoys of wagons travel back and forth through this circle throughout the day.
Originally, the actual tear in the planes that first allowed Daffles and Aurelia to travel here was visible and would open up in a grand display with each usage. However, that tear was mostly sealed by Aurelia during the orcish invasion to prevent its usage by the Xvarts. Now Aurelia has established (carved in stone, in fact) a permanent teleportation circle here, so people can travel here and back again with ease, though not with quite the same ease that they could before.
Actually, Aurelia had taken things one step further. The portal used to open whenever the teleportation circle was activated because she had linked the two together - using the instability of the tear to provide fuel for the circle, so she could activate it many times per day without spending a single spell to do it. She kept the knowledge of how this worked very close, however now that the original portal is gone and she has to activate the teleportation circle herself each time she has revealed some (but not all) of the details around these workings so people could understand the greatly increased need for her work operating the transport to and from Daring Heights.
