The Temple of Waukeen
The Temple of Waukeen was specifically requested and funded by Mayor Daffles, as he definitely wanted the blessings of the goddess of trade for his endeavour. As a result the temple was one of the first buildings completed in Daring and has pride of place near its main marketplace.
The current High Priest of Waukeen is an elven woman named Yaltine Everian, who has served Waukeen for well over a century in churches and in battle. Notable other figures include Kassienio Tesoro and Joy Appleheaver - respectively a cleric and a paladin of Waukeen who help out in the temple. Joy is far sterner than her name suggests.
Architecture
The temple is a large stone building sitting on the absolute peak of the city's hill, making it the highest building around. It is not overly elaborate in its construction - an expert might call it a bit of a rush-job - but it is clearly a work in progress. Workers often scale its walls to add extra embellishments or refine the stonework of this temple.
History
Founded along with Daring itself, in a town full of merchants and traders, the priests of Waukeen found themselves with a ready congregation even in a small population. Money was always on everyone's mind in Daring Heights.
However, tragedy struck the temple in the second year of its operation, when the fiend Pascal first appear on the scene. The incubus managed to persuade both priest and adventurer alike that they needed to perform a set of elaborate rituals to save the multiverse. This was of course, untrue, and the rituals they performed left a paladin and several members of the clergy dead.
The church never fully recovered from this loss, and combined with two wars and other events they were involved in, as well as the establishment of a Temple of Selûne meant that they are less than they perhaps could have been. Still a strong player in the town, but it is the High Priest of Selûne, not Waukeen, who sits on the town council. Recent changes in leadership have seen the church regain its footing and with Daring's increasing wealth attracted many who are already followers of the Luckmaiden.
