Turret

Turret

The son of Archimedes, his father was a legendary dragon guardian that went from the future King of Arcadia, to his ward the legendary hero Samuel Eshpard, to his friend the famous adventurer/assassin Seven. Finding a true calling with this family when his son Turret was born at the same time as Serrure Luxord the gods assigned the dragons to be the guardians of the fateful Luxord family.   Turret's first true adventure was with his partner Serrure's expedition to the edge of Loredas with the Voyagers. Due partially to his help and magical power his charge was one of the only three survivors of the journey, though he had to join in giving the tragic news of the death of his friend to his own father's old charge Samuel Eshpard.   The stress of the journey deeply affected his friend and while he worked to help him heal, he wasn't ever to make significant progress until the he married his childhood friend Ottova Luxord and had his daughter Aria Luxord. He finally saw happiness return to his friend over the course of him raising his daughter.   With his daughter out of the house, the war of Balimor arrived and took Ottova away from them. Serrure was broken and Turret was determined to be there for him. The mage snapped and started looking for a way to bring his wife back and Turret followed him to make sure he would be safe. In their search they almost found the Gigas of Life Anima before hitting a dead end at a Mindflayer city. Their mental powers harmed their ability to keep track of time and form memories but they stayed strong trying to find a way to the gigas. An ambush from the mindflayers seperated them, making Turret think his friend was in danger so he left to find Aria.   His connection to their family allowed him to make his way to Aria but he was unable to think of where Serrure was due to the mindflayer's influence. He stuck with Aria through her journey until he and Serrure reunited and they found the gigas. Though the prospects of bringing Ottova back did not seem possible, having his daughter in his life again seemed like it might be enough. Turret resolved that if Serrure would stay home safe, the best way to protect the whole family would be to protect Aria, for all their sakes.   Turret was with her for her entire adventure in Iocrias, being a Terrasque Slayer in his own right. He was there to the very end when Aria sacrificed herself to defend her adopted daughter Whis Luxord. Worried that he failed again he returned home with Whis to introduce her and give the bad news, waiting for Serrure to slip away again. But he had learned from his resolute friend and his daughter's example. Serrure would be there for his new granddaughter and Turret would be by his side.   Turret and Serrure continued helping the family together, as turret's own daughter Flurry had taken up the mantle as Whis' guardian while Turret sat comfortably having earned a spot as a "home guardian." After Serrure's death, a few years later Turret's 150th birthday came as he passed peacefully into death.
