Rune Ironborn
Rune is a centuries-old warforged and butler of Kuan-Ti Ironborn. "Born" right after the War of Forges, Rune spent his youth guarding the walls of Tel'Rhea as was his original intended purpose. He, like many of his people, eventually migrated back to their place of origin: the City of Ordained Order. There, Rune fell into the service of the Iron families and was assigned to monitor Kuan-Ti Ironborn, a task that Rune eventually interpreted as "raise". Quickly enamored with the child, Rune became Ironborn's biggest supporter, always seeing his potential for greatness. Now, on Legacy, Rune still believes that Ironborn's greatness deserves recognition, but he has grown far more concerned with the man beneath the greatness. For no matter their genius, each individual is more than just a conduit for the ever-turning wheel of Nacheevi.
Rune takes great pride in his role and this is reflected in his appearance and how he carries himself. He is incredibly proper, but comes equipped with an arsenal of verbal weapons to deploy at his will. Rune is generally distrustful and cautious of new people, but once he is more familiar, Rune is meticulous, dedicated, and witty, always willing to provide advice or tell tales. He has no problem making Ironborn the butt of the joke from time to time.

History
Rune has stood by Ironborn's side since the beginning. When the Iron families turned their back on Kuan-Ti, Rune remained, ever loyal and supportive. Now, in Ironborn's old age, their relationship visibly manifests as Rune nagging Ironborn, who grumbles and dismisses his old friends concerns. Deep down, Ironborn inspires Rune and Rune is the reason Ironborn continues on.
But my lord insists on making his bed in an old, gaudy mausoleum, hosting only ghosts for dismal company... Tis a pity his genius will die with him. – Rune
