Brothers' Crossing
Brothers' Crossing is the city closest to The Lighthouse. While it technically falls under the rule of the Order of the Golden Sun, the Tower Scholars have just as much power in this city. It is with this reason that Brothers' Crossing is the only city within the Order where the worshipping of almost any god or otherwise mighty creature is tolerated. Due to the impressive collection of knowledge gathered by the Tower Scholars, this city has the largest library on the continent, as well as schools for almost any craft or type of magic.
The city claims to house the graves of the three founding brothers of the Order. According to the stories, the brothers' lifespan stretched far beyond the normal human limit, and when their extraordinary age began to catch up to them, they chose to give up their lives. A temple was built on their graves, and over time a city grew around it. The name "Brothers' Crossing" honours the choice of the three brothers to cross the boundary between life and death.
General Information
Population: 43.500 (51 % Human, 22 % Halfling, 16% Dwarves, 11% other) Government: The official ruler of the city is Grand Overseer Imalrda Moorge Amria, a distant relative of the current ruler of the Order. However, the four Arch Scholars of the Tower Scholars hold just as much power of the city as she does. Defense: The city has an outer and an inner wall, along with multiple lines of defense and chokepoints to make it an easily defendable city. It also hosts an army camp just north of the city for new recruits for the war, in addition to the normal city militia and the soldiers employed by Tower Scholars militia. Commerce: The central location on the continent makes this city ideal for commerce. The Continent's Corners Market is the single largest gathering of goods on the continent, with products from all over the continent. The city is also home to the largest armaments manufacturing on the continent, which are produced in the Forgefire Streets. Organizations: This city is the only city within the Order of the Golden Sun where one can worship nearly any (type of) creature, thanks to the influence of the Tower Scholars. Their influence is also the cause for a record amount of cults and other groups that call the city home, despite attempts by the Grand Overseer to keep most fanatics out of the city.
