Having been gravely injured by the raiding Silchester knights Dame Maylene allowed to enter Salisbury, a delerious Sir Huw shows up at Newton Tony Manor In his fevered state, he reveals to Sir Felix that it was he who conspired to help Saexwulf sack Gaius and Bradwen's manors and kidnap Arwen.

Having defeated Cwichelm, the Saxons besieged and took the city of London. Sir Huw was involved in the fighting in London and severely injured. In a daze, he wandered to Salisbury and found himself at the doorstep of Sir Felix, who gave him hospitality despite his dislike of the knight.   Still delerious, Sir Huw accidentally revealed to Sir Felix that he had conspired with the Saxon Saexwulf in the kidnapping of Arwen and the desolation of Shrewton and Newton manors.   Meanwhile, Dame Maylene spent time at court in Sarum and began to patch her relationship with Lady Ellen.
