Diplomatic action
A Saxon army led by King Cerdic invades Salisbury for their refusal to pay him homage, but King Nanteleod joins forces with Salisbury and drives the Saxons off.
King Nanteleod arrived with an army on the borders of Salisbury and asked for permission to pass through the county. In return, he promised to come to Salisbury's aid. Earlier in the year, Prince Cynric had arrived and demanded Salisbury become a vassal of his father King Cerdic or else his father would invade along with the forces of King Port and King Ælle. Therefore, at the advice of her council (include Sir Felix and Dame Maylene), Lady Ellen agreed to Nanteleod's request. King Cerdic and King Port did indeed invade, though King Ælle stayed out, and King Nanteleod aided Salisbury as promised and drove off the invaders. Both Sir Felix and Dame Maylene participated in the battle. Afterwards, King Nanteleod went East and joined up with Duke Ulfius to attack the Saxons in Hartland. Sir Felix and Dame Maylene were given the option to go with him, but chose to remain in Salisbury.
