Deity
A Deity is a powerful supernatural being capable of bending or altering the laws of nature to effect their will. Also known as "gods" and "goddesses," Deities are the source of most divine magic, such as that used by Clerics and Paladins. All Deities have a special affinity for one or more "Domains," reflecting particular aspects of existence, and their respective Religions often compete for dominance among the mortal Races.
Deities are, by definition, immortal and most are presumed to have existed since the beginning of the universe. Some believe, however, that it is possible for a mortal creature to achieve divinity, as is claimed for St. Cuthbert and Siamorphe. Interestingly, the Deities of The Old World appear to be completely different from those of The New World, with the notable exceptions of the Draconic gods Bahamut and Tiamat.
