Legatus
Legatus is a title used by both the Latian Empire and Archaean Empire, as well as the Legio Milles. It is both civic and military in nature, as it denotes a high-ranking agent authorized to act on behalf of their Nation's leader without directly consulting them. Thus, a Legatus may serve as a viceroy, ambassador, military commander, or any combination thereof as the need arises. It is generally a temporary appointment, conferred in response to a specific issue and revoked once that issue has been resolved.
