Will o' Wisp

Will o' Wisps are a type of Monster found in both The Old World and The New World, said to be the angry spirits of lost travelers who died in the wilderness. Like Shadows they can also be created from victims of The Plague-Death whose corpses are prevented from reanimating.

Will o' Wisps are exceptionally dangerous, as they are able to move faster than the eye can perceive and wield supernatural lightning to deadly effect. They are also resistant to mundane attacks, with magic being the only reliable way to harm them. Generally, they only cooperate with one another, but they can occasionally be found in the service of Undead Mages and other powerful undead.

Their presence in the New World was confirmed on 9/6/213 by Eagrym, Herris, Ivellios, Lyudmila, Ma'ago, and Wolfram. When destroyed, they leave behind a supernatural essence, which is a useful Resource for Crafting and has an alchemical affinity for Lightning.
