Union of Interstellar Communes
The Union of Interstellar Communes is a star state with control of a single class-M star system, Pressburg, which contains numerous orbital habitats, primarily around the moons of Leninmir, including the capital of Tsumis. The UIC was founded following a revolt agains the Galactic Technologies Consortium, and was originally a loose coalition of largely autonomous communes on the various stations throughout the Pressburg system, but was reorganised into an authoritarian state following a period of internal conflict. The UIC follows Marxist principles, and has been described as Stalinist by its detractors. Following a failed invasion of the United Colonies of Columbia in 2579 , and the subsequent mysterious death and replacement of the UIC's head of state, the UIC has become more moderate in the hopes of improving relations with neighbouring star-states.
