Uniquely, Issyndr is exceptionally good at manipulating ice and snow, something her teammates find more challenging. It's uncertain if this is because of the influence of her domain or because of her upbringing on Phyto.

Personal history

Issyndr was born on the planet Phyto thousands of years ago, back when it was still inhabited. On the brink of an ice age, the land where she grew up was always covered in snow and from a young age Issyndr demonstrated the ability to move and manipulate the snow with her mind. This earned her some reverence and the nickname Lalloor, which translated to Snow Princess.
Unfortunately, life on Phyto wasn't to be for much longer. The Ice Age swept through and everything died except for Issyndr. The Phyto Starseed locked within her soul used its power to cyrogenically freeze her as the planet iced over. And she remained that way for thousands of years.
When the Atlantean Empire developed space travel technology, they sent probes to all the planets in the system to find out what was there. When they reached Phyto, they found a lot of ice and for a while they thought that was it. Then someone found evidence of civilisation and full on expeditions were planned to excavate and see what else was hidden in the ice.
To say finding Issyndr was a shock would be an understatement. At first they thought she was merely a well preserved corpse - they'd recovered some corpses but she was obviously the best example. She was brought back in ice chambers to Ambrosia in the hopes that they could study her but when they began to melt the ice, she awoke and did not respond well to being where she was.
Fortunately, the Empress Otrera had taken a personal interest in the discovery of Issyndr and was able to diffuse the situation before things got critical. She was then able to confirm what she'd suspected by looking through Issyndr's eyes in the past - Issyndr was the missing Sailor Phyto.
It took some time for Issyndr to get used to living in the modern era in a world where the snow was minimal, even at the coldest points of the year. She picked up the language easily enough but this only meant people now had the opportunity to ask her questions about her life before she was frozen. She found refuge in other senshi, particularly those who were older and were likewise born in different times; Otrera, Pythia (when she was around), Valencia, Romy Apollon and Serene Apollon. It was Otrera who Issyndr found herself drawn to most often.
Issyndr and Otrera eventually become a thing, though it's complicated on many fronts. Not least when Issyndr ends up pregnant with twins. Dea and Galen are born and named Otrera's heirs, with Issyndr officially becoming Otrera's consort - neither is interested in marriage and Issyndr definitely doesn't want the responsibility of being legally bound to the one ruling the Empire. She loves Otrera but that's not a responsibility she wants.

Education

Issyndr received a very rudimentary education when she was young, before being trapped in ice. Since thawing out, she has received personal tuition in many areas from personal tutors provided by Otrera. Whilst there are some very obvious gaps in her knowledge - for example, her children overtook her mathematical prowess aged seven - she is quite well read in other areas. Offers have been made to help bring her up to speed but for the most part Issyndr beleives she knows what she needs to know, at least for now.
