Like most of the senshi in her home system, Serene is capable of hydrokinesis; moving water with her mind. Having possessed the ability for hundreds of years, she is very skilled with it and can move large quantities with relative ease. The power and precision of this ability are enhanced when she is transformed into Sailor Coronis.

Personal history

The youngest of three siblings, Serene was born and raised on Ambrosia in the Atlas System. Each sibling possessed a starseed with Serene having the Coronis starseed and awakening the power of Sailor Coronis whilst she was a preteen.
The three siblings - orphaned in the attack that awoke their senshi powers - were taken in by Valencia. Whilst never officially adopted, Serene at least sees Val as a mother figure (though has always been far too scared to call her that to her face).
Unfortunately, during those early days, Serene's older sister Myla Apollon was killed whilst performing her duty as Sailor Ambrosia. A terrible thing in its own right, the event also drove a wedge between Serene and her oldest sibling Romy Apollon. To this day, the pair struggle to get on when forced together.

History

Eos and Serene met through both being senshi in the Atlas System. Centuries of their paths crossing and their working together formed a friendship between them. For most of this time, there was never anything sexual about their relationship; Eos was attracted to Serene but had never received indication that the feeling was mutual, so chose not to act upon that attraction; Serene, being demisexual, wasn't attracted to Eos until suddenly she was. Neither was interested in a romantic relationship and whilst Eos had something of a reputation for being promiscuous, she never settled into 'serious' relationships with any of her sexual partners.
So, for a long time, their mutual attraction was largely ignored.
Until they got completely shit-faced drunk one night and ended up hooking up.
To say the morning after was awkward would be an understatement. Fortunately, Eos at least had the emotional maturity to force Serene into a conversation. And after realising that there was a mutual attraction and that neither was after a romantic relationship with the other - more than happy with staying friends - they entered into the hazy territory of friends with benefits.
And it worked remarkably well. For the most part, their friendship hasn't changed. They just periodically meet up and have sex.
