Val has the ability to move vast quantities of water with her mind. Having possessed this ability for a long time, she is quite skilled with its use. Out of all of her teammates, she is the one that can move the largest quantities of water at a given time.

Personal history

Val was born a long time ago. And for a long time, she was a soldier. Awakening as Sailor Pedile didn't change that - it just made her that much stronger, that much faster and able to endure that much more.
Val was one of several senshi to fight in the Fall of Lethe. It was a breaking point for her. She'd been fighting for so long but had never faced such a defeat as the one she felt they suffered in Lethe. Sure, it was regarded as a victory because they fought off the invaders but the devestation was huge. Val retired from the Atlantean Army and disappeared for a few years.
She kept to herself for those few years and potentially would have done so even longer were it not for an incident that required her attention as Sailor Pedile. This incident also awoke the powers of three young senshi; Sailor Cleeia, Sailor Ambrosia and Sailor Coronis. The trio, siblings, were orphaned and latched onto Val in the aftermath - particularly the younger two. And whilst parenthood wasn't something Val had ever sought from life, she suddenly had three children in Romy Apollon, Myla Apollon and Serene Apollon.
With only a life of a soldier to fall back on, Val treated the children much like she would a soldier under her command, with a little more leniency. And whilst this approach worked well enough with Romy and Selene, it didn't with Myla. Ultimately, Myla rebelled against Val and sought out danger, getting herself killed and Romy seriously injured - they'd elected not to bring Serene along, deeming her 'too young'.
And Val very almost gave up. She came very close to finding somewhere else for the two remaining siblings to go. But, for better or for worse, Serene's pleading persuaded her to try with them one more time. And whilst the whole thing had driven a wedge between Romy and Serene, Val was able to hold them together enough.
And in the centuries that followed, Val found herself taking in more children; orphans whose parents were taken away during terrible events. And only ever one or two at a time for a long time. Now she will provide a home for up to five or six, but usually only because she's taken in sibling groups.
