Republic of Arvandor

The Republic of Arvandor was founded after a long conflict between the Old Empire of Adar and the Elven Theocracy of Arvandor was resolved by Lamis, The Archdruid uniting the world’s nations by taking down the ruler of Adar, joining forces against the Primordial War and later on in the uprising of Auth, The Lich king, God of Undeath. Arvandor changed into a Republic after the old structure seemed to create nothing but conflict amongst the nations. The republic is filled with dense forests, where they have built their cities, villages, and sacred places. The people of Arvandor are a naturally attuned bunch, composed in large quantities by Earth Elves and Orogs. Many travel to Arvandor to learn their arcane, druidic and occult arts, although druids are usually recommended to visit Sylvandar for their teachings. One of the most important aspects of culture in Arvandor is their connection to nature. The Elves and Orogs of Arvandor revere the forests, rivers, and mountains that surround their cities, and they work tirelessly to protect these natural wonders from harm. They believe that all living things are connected and that harming the natural world is a grave offense. The government of the Republic of Arvandor is based on a council, made up of the most respected and influential members of Arvandor society. The council is led by a High Elder, who is chosen from among the council members for a term of twenty years. The High Elder is responsible for overseeing the government and ensuring that the laws of the republic are upheld. The current High Elder of Arvandor is Livia Katsaros   Tensions between Arvandor and Sioa have been rising in recent years. With the industrial boom of the last century, Sioa has been disrespecting many of the surrounding forests and groves, with excessive deforestation and explotation of natural resources. Sioa's response, however, shows little respect to Arvandor's concerns, and with the turbulent history between the nations, things could revert back to before the Trinity if they continue to progress.
