Corellon

God of the Elves

Corellon, also known as Corellon Larethian, is the elven patron god, the Creator of the Elves and the Protector. He is passionate, graceful, and chaotic, and is able to take on various forms, from a chuckling stream to a flock of birds. Corellon has a long and tenuous history with both Gruumsh and Lolth. As punishment for Lolth's actions, Corellon cast out all beings from Arvandor, the first layer of Arborea, the High Forest, and no elf or elf spirit would ever return to enjoy eternal life in Arvandor. See The Sin of the Elves for more information.

Typical worshipers

Elves of all kinds, including high elves, wood elves, and sea elves, are typical worshipers of Corellon. Bards, fighters, and rangers also venerate him.

Clerical practice

Clerics of Corellon act as guardians of elvenkind, seeking to preserve the beauty and grace of the elven way of life. They also strive to protect natural beauty and elven magic. They favor a chaotic, individualistic approach to life, and they are always willing to try something new. They are expected to be generous and to share their knowledge and skills.

Rituals and prayers

Worshipers of Corellon prefer to worship in natural surroundings, such as a clearing in a forest or a waterfall, but some temples have been built in honor of the creator. They offer prayers of thanks for the beauty of the natural world and ask for Corellon's blessings on their endeavors. They also participate in music and dance, which are highly valued in elven culture. Some clerics of Corellon offer healing and guidance to travelers they encounter, viewing this as a way to extend Corellon's protection to those in need.
