Irondeep Dungeons

Since most criminals are typically exiled from Irondeep altogether, the dungeons are very rarely occupied. Since gnomes are so socially inclined, exile is seen as a harsh punishment, which dissuades most wrongdoers. At the very least as an outcast there is a chance at coexisting with deep gnomes or other outcasts. For these reasons, life in a dungeon where you have no social interaction whatsover is considered the worst punishment by far (except for death).

The dungeons themselves are barely 8'x8'x8' hollowed stone pits. The only entrance/exit is a single trap door directly above the pit. A candle is provided daily as a courtesy, but that's about the only comfort you'll find in this miserable place.
