Steven de Bolbec
Steven de Bolbec is an interesting character. A highly renowned gem merchant from Norbury with a thick accent, Steven made his fame and fortune through hard work and dedication. It's his classic come-up story that inspires people to be like him. Once a poor struggling merchant, Steven made his presence known to all in The Market District through desperate haggling and trade. His intense demeanor was ridiculed for a while, but he was making money. Soon he was trading for larger and larger sums. Small and dirty gems became large multifaceted shining jewels, and soon nobles and peasants alike started saving money to obtain a gem from Steven's collection.
As his reputation grew, and Norbury itself expanded into the massive trade city that it is today, Steven became one of the five leaders of The Merchants Guild. As a leader he was generally well liked and was very involved in helping create the city's trade laws.
Steven de Bolbec went missing from the City in late Zarantyr 853AC. His beautiful gemmed house was found completely empty, so it is presumed he must have left of his own volition.
His whereabouts are currently unknown.
