The Council of Ancients

Much of human folklore and legend about supernatural creatures comes from ancient myths and stories, but humans don’t call the Middle Ages the Dark Ages for nothing. With plague, corruption, and other pestilence upon the lands, the Earth became a playground for the violent and terrorsome supernatural. When human modernity and progress awoke them to the true presence of supernatural creatures in their midst, as opposed to scary storytelling, the elders of the supernatural realm responded.   The ancient supernatural elders formed the Council of Ancients to broker peace within the supernatural world that included the promulgation of an edict that:
  • forbade the killing of humans for fun or feast.
  • forbade the exposure of the supernatural realm to the human realm out of fear of retribution or genocide.
The Council of Ancients is protected by the Kingdom of the Fae and is hosted at Saint Gobnait’s Wood, where it is protected and hidden from prying eyes by powerful Fae magic. When in session, Hellhounds are summoned to protect the Council from distraction and mutiny. To date, the council has always been respected by the majority of creatures of the supernatural realm, the excepting being rogue individuals.
