Oyaviggaton

Oyaviggaton (meaning "Island of Eternity" in Uliuk) is a large iceberg that travels in the Sea of Moving Ice. For a time, it served as one of the lairs for the White Dragon Arauthator.

Geography

The iceberg was characterized by several high peaks, well over 200 ft (61 m) tall. The middle of Oyaviggaton formed a plateau, where hundreds of native Ice Hunters lived.

History

In 1480, the white dragon Arauthator created a lair on Oyaviggaton. Through threat of death, he arranged for a native tribe of Ice Hunters to serve as protectors of his lair, in addition to the various kobolds and other species he had in his service.   In the late 1480's, Arauthator, alongside other dragons, launched an attack on the Arcane Brotherhood's Host Tower and stored his spoils in his lair on Oyaviggaton. This attack attracted the notice of Maccath the Crimson, a famed dracologist and member of the Arcane Brotherhood. While investigating Oyaviggaton in 1491, Maccath was captured by Arauthator and put to work translating the various magical documents he had stolen into draconic.   In mid-1492, the Breadwinners, fresh off their deputization from the Council of Waterdeep, arrived on Oyaviggaton to find Maccath, as she was perhaps the only scholar that could figure out the location of the Draakhorn. While on the iceberg, the adventurers killed Arauthator, freeing the native Ice Hunters, and divided the dragon's hoard amongst themselves and the crew of the Frostskimmer, which had carried them to the Sea of Moving Ice.
