Shadowfell

The Shadowfell is one of the Inner Planes, considered the opposite of the Feywild, and is a shadowed reflection of the Material Plane. The Shadowfell is a a plane of death, darkness, and decay.   The Shadowfell is home to wandering hoards of Undead, packs of vicious Monstrosities, and the odd entity that fell through from the Astral Sea.   Much of the Shadowfell is not mapped, and the limited attempts at mapping it have been difficult at the plane seemed to not comply with normal geography and geometry. Some places have been discovered once, only to not exist when people have returned.   This plane is home to The Unseen who resides in his massive Palace of Shadows.

Geography

Palace of Shadows
This massive palace of obsidian, gold, and darkness is the home to The Unseen. This is where 'lost souls' go to be judged, before being sent on to other planes of existence for their afterlife. 'Lost souls' are those that have not been promised to or claimed by a deity or extra-planar entity. The Unseen does not do the judging himself, instead he has his angels doing the judging.   Fields of Sorrow
Sprawling fields that seem to stretch infinitely in all directions. The fields are full of black grass, sparsely spread but massive trees, and black sheep. Running through the middle of the fields is a paved road that leads to the Palace of Sorrow.   When 'lost souls' appear in the Shadowfell, they appear in the Fields of Sorrow. There is often lines of people waiting on the road leading to the Palace of Shadows.   These fields seem to have a calming effect on all who visit.   Reverie
A sprawling city that seems to mirror Insomnia City.   Swamps of Despair
A massive sprawling swamp. Often clouds of mists will drift across, causing people travelling across the swamps to easily get lost.   Spending too long here has often driven mortals either insane or put them into a permanent sleep.   Guenhyvar Myth
An ancient floating city. Seems to appear at random.   Peaks of Misery
Massive mountains that seem to mirror the Death Reach Mountains. This mountain range is the home to the The Shadow Temple of the Shadowfell.   Dead End Ruins
A massive sprawling ruins of an ancient city destroy by unknown means. The ruins are on a peninsular that sticks out into the Penumbra Sea.   Penumbra Sea
A massive sea of black water. The water is poisonous to most humanoids, other than those native to this plane.
