Personal history
Adam Brashear was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. From an early age it was realized that he was a child prodigy.
His family were not well off, but Adam was a skilled sportsman, and secured a football scholarship to Cornell University. Due to his excellent academic performance, he was able to quality for grants to help with the cost of completing his Masters and Doctorate, both in Physics.
After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, completing two tours of duty before resigning his commission to return to science. During this time he met and married Marlene Frazier, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, with whom he had three children, Kevin, Max, and Adrienne.
After working as a researcher for a number of years, he was recruited to Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. as a senior researcher.
He was able to secure an internship for his eldest son Kevin with S.H.I.E.L.D.. Unfortunately, this meant that he was in the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility when it was attacked by Loki . His body was never found, and it is believed it was destroyed when the building collapsed.
Kevin's death caused Max to move out and cut all contact with his parents, blaming them for what happened.
Seeking a fresh start, Adam accepted a job at M.I.T. as a researcher and guest lecturer, spending much of his time in Cambridge and rarely seeing his family. He and Marliene eventually divorced.
When Tony Stark purchased Advanced Idea Mechanics and began turning it into Avengers Idea Mechanics, Brashear applied for and was awarded the possition of CSO of AIM.

Employment
After university, Brashear joined the US Army, serving in the second gulf war.
In 2009 he was appointed a senior researcher for Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. After the dissolution of the project, he worked as senior researcher and guest lecturer at M.I.T.
