Personal history

Born in 2940, to two cyber-security workers, Timothy and Angela Rush, Edward was a laid back and dependable child, who unlike his parents, enjoyed the great outdoors. This was mostly likely caused by Edward being born in the temperate zone of a cool planet (unlike its namesake island country). By the time he was 18, he knew that an office job was not for him. And so, he joined the Royal Cypriot Regiment. Unlike RSM Ironsides and BSM Locke, who have had extremely fast careers Rush has had slower burn, doing his time as a JNCO, taking seven years to reach the heady heights of Sergeant. His career was accelerated slightly because of the Royal Cyprian's being rotated into the Tarquin war. The Cypriots were posted in the Singapore Salient, with promotion to Staff Sergeant occuring in only 6 months, before taking only another 2 years before receiving his warrant as a CSM.
Also unlike Locke or BSM Constantine, Rush was involved in the Indian Mutiny, although his battalion was busy storming the presidential palace, two whole planets away from where the usurper general was hiding.
How he came about joining the Queen's Own Anti-Revolutionary Company is not fully known, Colonel Alastair Macgregor, nor Edward himself, have not disclosed that information, but is known is that he was one of the founding WOIIs being appointed to QMSM of the 8th section, before being promoted to WOI and Section SM 9th section (training). This made him one of three WOIs, of Alice Locke, Patrick Ironsides and himself. In these roles, he was responsible for the rebuilding these rebellion wracked planets giving him much needed experience with The Ministry of Governmental Excellence
When the QOARC was shut down, Macgregor had him be the WOI in charge of training the new NCOs for the Solent Corps, before moving him into this current role of BSM, 3rd Battalion. Due to his 13 years of heavy infantry experience, and because of his laid-back, non-competitive or impulsive, nature, he was given the task of keeping Lieutenant-Colonel Kerry Pieterson in line and prevent her from destroying another battalion. His experience also allows him to successfully liaise between his battalion, and their main duty, the heavy infantry regiments, including, but not limited to, the Solent Fusiliers.
