Vanguard Garrison

Vanguard Garrison is the headquarters of the Republic of Auster's main law enforcement organization, the Talons. It is an eastern wing of Valkenkreit Castle, which is located in Penrath and housed the castle guard when Auster was still an empire.

Description

Vanguard Garrison (and the rest of Valkenkreit Castle) is built out of the stone hill which sits at the heart of Penrath. Carved directly into its natural foundation, the Garrison is tucked away behind the rest of the castle. It's main tower is the tallest section of the entire castle, however, and serves as the castle's primary watchtower.

Vanguard Garrison was formerly referred to simply as the "guard's wing", and was not considered to be a seperate location from the rest of Valkenkreit Castle until sometime around 15 or 20 LE. This change occurred due to the re-establishment of Auster as a Republic after the death of Emperor Auster von Oberst in 11 LE, and the subsequent shift of the duties of the castle guards which resulted in the creation of the Talons.
