Eresus Lowlands (Err-Eee-Sus)
The Gateway to Utican
Southeastern coastal lowlands famed for being the original landing area of the northern Helenistic expeditionary force in Utican. The Eresus Lowlands are not heavily populated due to the difficult to navigate terrain. There are a number of ruins dating back to the first landing by Helenistic forces in Utican.
The people who used to call Eresus home have mostly immigrated to the other regions in the Unclaimed Lands. However, a population center has begun to grow around Elmina Keep in the eastern portion of the region.
Geography
The loawlands are a series of wetlands, jungles, and swamps. The entire region is only just above sea level and prone to flooding. The only exception to this are the mountains in the east that are collectively known as the Sea Gate Mountains or simply the Sea Gate.
