City of Jorick

The City of Jorick is a busy riverport that is the baronic seat of the Barony of Jorick.  The Baron of Jorick, Camden am Warrhim, keeps his official residence at Barony House on the east bank of the Caldar River.

Demographics

Roughly half Human and the rest Halfling, with perhaps 1,500 Dwarves.

Government

Ruled by the Baron of Jorick, Camden am Warrhim with an appointed Lord Mayor, Omer Poole.

Defences

There are several miles of ancient walls and towers that have fallen so far into disrepair as to be entirely unservicable as defensive works.  A new city wall is being built, comprised of stone walls and deep layers of high, thorny hedges between 30' round towers and three double gatehouses.  There are two full companies of Foot that comprise the two elements of the town's defensive forces:  the Wall Watch and the Town Watch.

Industry & Trade

Primarily river trade with a strong emphasis on grain and livestock shipping, both to and from the city.

Grand Temple of Jorick

Tourism

In the center of the Uphill district of Jorick stands the Grand Temple of Jorick, the religious and administrative center for the adherents of the Pantheon of Heaven faith.  Surrounding the Temple is the very busy Temple Market, where all manner of goods and services can be arranged.
