Born the third child (oldest daughter) of Alain Tourneur, a successful merchant from Aria. At the age of 15, she began travelling with her father and brothers and on a summer-long trip to Imesse, she met and fell in love with Amos. Her father was hesitant to allow the courtship at first but warmed to the idea when it became apparent just how wealthy Amos was.
Education
Colette has a fantastic ability to manage money and keep books. These skills she learned from her father's mercantile business, and she applies then with great results to the Carrywood.

History
Colette is the daughter of a merchant captain from Aria named Alain Tourneur. While accompanying her father as a young woman to Len Doa, Colette met Amos and over the course of the trading season, fell in love with him. Colette's father was not happy, but Amos' parents were wealthy enough that his concern for his daughter's future soon faded.
