Shire of Pottston

The Shire of Pottston is a community on the north bank of the Caldar River about 16 miles upstream from the City of Jemptal. The Shire has a population of just over 5,900 souls led by the Sheriff of Pottston, Stanlin Turner. The Shire seat is the Town of Pottston, where the Sheriff has his official bench of authority at the White Keep. The town itself is more than a half mile from the Caldar River bank, but there are two stone-lined canals that connect the docks and warfs of the river district with the town itself.   The shire has an industrial focus on the production and distribution of finely fired pottery and ceramics created from the superior grade of clay found in large and very profitable deposits all around the town. Subsidiary industries such as barrel-making, charcoal production, dye and glaze makers and several dozen brickmakers are located at various places throughout the shire.
