His Honor, Lord Sheriff Stanlin Turner (a.k.a. Stanley)
Stanlin Turner is the Sheriff of the Shire of Pottston in the Ward of Jemptal. Pottston is a shire of 4,000 people that is located about 8 miles upstream of the City of Jemptal on the north bank of the Caldar River.
Stanlin is a veteran of 30 years of service in the Regiments of Dragoons raised in the Ward. He is a tall, broad-chested Human of 50 years that is an accomplished mounted knight and a seasoned leader of troops in combat. His time in the Dragoons has given him a unique perspective on how best to utilize and facilitate the Shire's infrastructure to maximize the defensive and security benefits offered to the Shire's residents.
Stanlin is a firm judge in his role as Sheriff, and residents and travellers that break the laws of the Shire are quick to learn this fact. He is known to be a fair judge, but he believes justice should be swift and dispenses it accordingly.

Stanlin served for 30 years as a Dragoon in the Regiments of the Ward, eventually reaching the rank of Command Captain of the 1st Regiment of Jemptal Dragoons. He was thought by many to be the next Lord Commander of Dragoons, but he made it known that he would not accept that rank, as he felt he was too old to adequately fill the rank.
Stanlin was practically raised in a saddle, riding horses nearly as soon as he could walk. His family has raised and trained some of the most prized lines of Cobal Chargers in all the Kingdom. He still has a sizable farm within the Shire where he raises and trains as many as 10 Chargers a year. With each trained Charger bringing a price of tens of thousands of guineas, Stanlin is a very wealthy Sheriff, and has not taken a farthing of income from the Shire in his entire tenure as Sheriff.
