Altrissen
Altrissen is a prominent port town situated on the western coast of the Kingdom of Set. The city, known for its white-washed buildings and vibrant marketplace, has historically enjoyed great prosperity. However, in recent years, its fortunes have gradually declined with the establishment of the nearby city of Cademor to the south. Despite this decline, Altrissen continues to be cherished by many local conservatives who prefer to engage in trade within its bustling markets rather than venturing to Cademor. However, some regional traders have opted to relocate to Cademor, drawn by the opportunities presented in the emerging trade hub.
Altrissen boasts an exceptional local cuisine, renowned for its flavours and unique culinary traditions. As the regional capital, the city serves as the focal point for local festivals and competitions, attracting participants and spectators from far and wide.
The city and its surrounding region are under the rule of Krassus, the Protector of the West of the West. Krassus earned his position through his extensive military experience and proven ability to combat bandits, pirates, and tribal unrest in the eastern territories. The title of protector is not hereditary and is bestowed upon individuals based on their demonstrated skills and achievements. However, it is important to note that this title is forfeited upon the protector's death or removal from office by the King.
The region in which Altrissen resides is known as the Province of Rissoria, encompassing a diverse range of landscapes, from coastal areas to inland plains and rolling hills.
